For me the war against the Chitauri--against Loki--started later than it did for others. Director Fury was there from the start, he witnessed the god's coming, heard his speech about his plans for earth and nearly died during that encounter. I was safely stashed away on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when it all happened, though it didn't stay away for long. Things were relatively calm until they found Loki and brought him aboard the ship. I was suspicious from the start, from the moment that he publicly showed himself in Stuttgart, Germany, probably knowing that we would find him.

Once they were worshiped as gods, though soon mankind moved on from those legacies, they stamped them off as nonsense their ancestors invented to find a purpose for their primitive lives.
